This recipe is famous in telangana area of Andhra Pradesh. I think most of you like potatoes. I love potatoes cooked in any form. All you need is to boil the potatoes and deepfry them and add it to masala powder.
Ingredients:
Potatoes (large)-3
Dry coconut powder-3tbsp
Coriander seeds-1tbsp
Cumin seeds-1tbsp
Chillipowder-1tsp
Garlic cloves-4(finely chopped)
Oil-2tbsp+for deep-frying
Cinnamon stick-1inch
Cloves-3
Elaichi-2
For masala powder:
Coriander seeds-1tbsp
Cumin seeds-1tbsp
Poppy seeds/gasagasalu-3tbsp
Cloves-4
Cinnamon stick-1inch piece
Elaichi-3
Redchillies-3
Peppercorns-6
Lemons (small)-2
Salt-to taste
Pre-process:
- Boil potatoes by adding salt to water and peel the skin of boiled potatoes and cut into cubes.
- Deep fry potato pieces till golden brown. While frying fry potato pieces on sim.
- Dryroast ingredients mentioned for making masala powder till nice aroma comes out.let it cool and make smooth powder.
- Take juice out of lemon.
Procedure:
- Heat 2tbsp oil in a pan and add garlic pieces and fry till nice aroma comes out.
- Add elaichi, cloves, cinnamon stick to pan and fry for a minute.
- Now Add masala powder to pan and mix it nicely and switch off stove.
- Add deep fried potato pieces, salt, chilli powder, coconut powder to masala powder and mix well.
- Add lemon juice to pan and mix nicely.
Serving ideas:
Goes very well with rice.
Note:
- Instead of big potatoes you can use baby potatoes. If you are using baby potatoes use 6 potatoes for above recipe, no need to cut them into pieces, use whole potato.
- You can increase or decrease quantity of lemon juice according to your taste.
