Kadai Kumb

Kadai kumb is a dish from north india.In Punjabi mushroom is called as kumb.thus name of the dish is kadai kumb.personally I don’t like mushrooms but my best half likes mushrooms, so I prepare mushroom curry for him. When I came to know this recipe tried it the next day and it came out good. Even I ate it on that day and thought of preparing my mushroom curry that way. So if anyone in your house including you, don’t like mushrooms? Ok prepare your mushroom curry this way and enjoy…………


Ingredients:


White button mushrooms-6 (cut each mushroom into 6 pieces)
Onion (medium)-1(slice lengthwise)
Tomatoes (medium)-3(finely chopped)
Greenchillies-6
Chilli powder-3/4 tbsp
Cloves-12
Elaichi-5
Cinnamon-two, 2 inch pieces
Cumin powder-2tsp
Coriander powder-2tsp
Coriander seeds-2  1/2tsp
Cumin seeds-1tsp
Turmeric-1/4tsp
Bayleaf-3
Water-1cup
Oil-2tbsp


Procedure:


  1. Heat oil in a kadai, add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, elaichi, bayleaf, cloves, cinnamon stick and fry for a minute.
  2. Add onion ,greenchilliesand fry till onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add tomatoes, coarianderpowder, cumin powder, salt, and mix well.
  4. Add chillipowder, turmeric powder and add mushrooms and mix well, fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Add water and cook by keeping lid until all water is absorbed and mushroom are cooked.

Serving ideas:
Goes well with rotis and rice.
