Chicken Galouti

Chicken Galouti

Chicken galouti is a north Indian dish. When I came to know this recipe I found it interesting and tried it the next day and came out good. But surprisingly this dish will not taste like chicken, it tastes like vegetarian. As you know, chicken is a good source of protein ,but some kids and  elders  don’t eat chicken, so  such people  will surely like this recipe.

Ingredients:

 Boneless chicken-1pound
Chillipowder-1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric-1/4 tsp
Salt-to taste
Lemon juice of 1 lemon.
Tomatoes(medium)-2(finely chopped)
Onions(medium)-2(finely chopped)
Green chillies-10(finely chopped)
Chillipowder-1tsp
Salt-to taste
Turmeric-1/4tsp
Ginger garlic paste-1 1/2tsp

Procedure:

  1. Marinate chicken by adding salt, turmeric.chillipowder, salt, lemon juice for1/2 hour and then make a paste out of chicken in a blender.
  2. Make small balls out of chicken paste and keep aside
  3. Heat a pan and place balls on pan, keep lid and cook chicken balls on sim till all water that comes out of chicken goes away and balls are cooked well on both sides, keep turning balls in between.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add onions and greenchillies and fry till golden brown.
  5. Add tomato pieces, gingergarlic paste, turmeric, salt and mix and cook till tomato becomes soft and cooked nicely.
  6. Add little water to gravy and add chicken balls and cook for 3 minutes till all water goes away and switch off stove and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serving ideas:
Goes well with roti and rice too, but tastes good with roti than rice.
