As mushrooms are very good for health, I always make mushroom curry. When I came to know about mushroom pakoda I tried it and really it was awesome.I like mushroom curry a lot but now I like mushroom pakoda lot more than mushroom curry. Mushrooms are called as puttagodugulu in telugu.in Andhra we make ullipakodi and this puttagodugula pakodi is an extension to ullipakodi, because the process is same as ullipakodi except that for mushroom pakoda we are adding mushrooms along with all ingredients we use for ullipakodi.so you too give it a try and enjoy the taste.
Ingredients:
White button mushrooms (cut into 1inch pieces)-1cup
Gram flour/senagapindi-2cups
Cornflour-2tbsp
Garammasala-1tbsp
Chillipowder-1/2tbsp
Greenchillies-5(finely chopped)
Ginger- 1inch piece (finely chopped)
Gingergarlicpaste-1tbsp
Curry leaves-4springs (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves-2springs (finely chopped)
Onions (sliced)-1cup
Salt-to taste
Oil-for deep frying
Procedure:
- Mix all above ingredients in a bowl and then add few tablespoons of water and mix to make hard batter (thick paste) i.e. as we mix for ullipakodi.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Use your hands and drop small portions of batter i.e. small dumplings at a time and fry on medium heat till golden brown.
